The Public Works Department consists of twelve full-time employees and by seasonal crews dedicated to Winter Park's gardens, parks, and forests. Included among the many duties our hard working Public Works Department are responsible for are:

  • Street and roadway maintenance
  • Snow removal
  • Streetlights along US Hwy 40 - all other streetlights are maintained by Mountain Parks Electric
  • Upkeep of parks and open space
  • Seasonal decorations and lighting
  • Responding to service requests
  • Design and maintenance of gardens
  • Maintenance of Town vehicles and equipment

  • Winter Snow Removal Operations

Due to Winter Park's location high in the Rocky Mountains, much of the focus of the Public Works Department centers on snow removal and keeping the roadways safe and open for residents and guests. To achieve that end, we like to provide as much information as possible to educate the public about our policies and programs and how to stay safe while navigating vehicles in potentially hazardous situations.
