Winter Park Elections

Winter Park is a Home Rule Municipality and voters must be registered with the Town to vote in elections; registration with Grand County does not automatically make one eligible to vote in Town elections.

Town elections are governed by Colorado Municipal Election Laws and decrees that:

~ All special and regular elections shall be nonpartisan. No candidate for any municipal office shall run under any party label

~ A regular municipal election shall be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in April of 1984, and biennially thereafter. Any special municipal election may be called by resolution or ordinance of the council at least forty-five (45) days in advance of such election. The resolution or ordinance calling a special municipal election shall set forth the purpose or purposes of such election.

~ No person shall be permitted to vote at any municipal election without having first registered with the Town Clerk at least 31 days preceding the municipal election.

Winter Park Voter Registration

To qualify to vote in Winter Park Town Elections, you must be:

~ at least 18 years of age

~ a resident of the Town of Winter Park, having resided within the town limits at least 31 days before the election

Check to see if you are listed as a Registered Voter. If you do not see your name and believe you are registered, please contact the Town Clerk.

To register to vote in municipal elections, please stop in at Town Hall with proof of age and residency.

Registered voters who did not exercise their right to vote in the last election are purged from the voter database within 45 days of the election, per Town Charter Section 2.4.

2010 Election
The next municipal election will be held April 6, 2010. There will be one polling place for the election located at Town Hall, 50 Vasquez Road, Winter Park. If you prefer to vote via Absentee Ballot, you may complete an Absentee Ballot Application and submit it to the Town Clerk.

If you would like to be involved in the 2010 Municipal Election, please contact the Town Clerk, serving as an Election Judge can be a great way to get involved and give back to the community.
