1. Does the Police Department do VIN inspections?

Yes, if you purchased a vehicle outside the state of Colorado, or you are moving to Grand County with an out of state vehicle, and if you are a resident of the town of Winter Park or the town of Fraser a VIN inspection can be done. Either at the location of the vehicle, if it's located within the town limits of Fraser or Winter Park, or you can bring the vehicle to the police department Monday-Friday 8:00 am till 5:00 pm.

4. How do I get in touch with a police officer after business hours?

After normal business hours you can call Grand County Dispatch at 970-725-3549, they can take your name and number to have an officer give you a call. If you have an emergency please call 9-1-1.

5. How do I get a copy of a Police Report or Accident Report?

6. Where is the Grand County Jail?

The Grand County Jail is located in Hot Sulphur Springs Colorado.

7. How do I pay a penalty assessment citation?

Citations written in to the Fraser Winter Park Municipal Court  payments can be done on line at co-winterpark.civicplus.com/301 or mailed to the Fraser Winter Park Municipal Court, PO Box 211, Winter Park, CO 80482.  You can call the Fraser Winter Park Municipal Court at 970-722-7779 and pay with a valid credit card by phone.  

 A payment by mail must be postmarked no later than 20 days from the date the citation was issued to receive the automatic point reduction by two (2) points, 2 point violations will be reduced by one (1) point. If not paid, or mailed within the 20 days the citation becomes a summons, requiring you to appear in court at the date, time and place shown on your citation.

8. What happens if I don't pay my citation within the 20 days of issuance date and I fail to appear in Court?

If payment is not received with in the 20 days of the citation issuance date, the citation automatically becomes a summons requiring your appearance in court at the date, time and place shown on your citation. If you fail to appear in Court an automatic default judgment is entered on your driving record, an additional cost of $30.00 is added to the already given fines and fees, full points will be assessed to your driving record and the default judgment remains on your driving record until paid in full. You will not be able to renew your driver's license until you pay the court the amount of the judgment plus a fee as required by law.

9. Where can I park a bus, large R.V., or trailer for the day?

There is NO on-street parking within the Town of Winter Park or the Town of Fraser at any time of the year, except in designated areas. It is also unlawful to park in any right of way in the Town of Winter Park or Fraser throughout the year. Therefore, when it comes to parking the Town of Winter Park or Fraser does NOT have the ability to accommodate oversize vehicles, trailers, etc. Motorist are encouraged and should check with lodging facilities and/or businesses about their specific parking accommodations.

10. What if I get a Parking ticket? How can I pay it?

If you receive a parking ticket within the town of Winter Park, you have 20 days after the day the ticket was issued to pay the total due of $37.50. However, if you pay after the 20 days the fines increase to $92.50 total due.
