Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Affordable Housing Assistance Fund Seeks Donations

Looking to lend a hand to your fellow community members? Want to make Winter Park a great place for people to work AND live? Give your neighbors the boost they need to make a home here in Winter Park/Fraser Valley with a donation to the Winter Park Affordable Housing Assistance Fund.

After finding that a large part of the local workforce can’t afford housing in the Fraser Valley, the Fund was created to provide assistance to those individuals. Originally established through a donation from the Town of Winter Park and funds from the Grand Foundation’s Grand Gala, the Fund has already helped thirteen individuals and families find a home in Winter Park and/or the Fraser Valley. Now, community support is needed to increase the impact.

Neighbor to Neighbor: Double Your Impact

Your contribution to the Fund allows more people to take advantage of housing support. Money received from the Fund can be used for rent, move-in assistance, and/or down payment assistance on housing for Winter Park and Fraser Valley.

Plus, through the “Neighbor to Neighbor” campaign, you can double the impact of your donations as the Winter Park Resort and the Town of Winter Park will match your contribution. For every dollar donated by December 31st, 2017, the entities will partner to contribute an additional dollar, up to $250,000.

Donations are now being accepted online. Help your fellow community members and donate to the Fund at www.grandfoundation.com/give. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated!

A larger impact can be made on Colorado Gives Day, December 5, 2017. You can make a donation via www.coloradogives.org/GrandCountyGives/grandfoundation and your donation, earmarked to the Winter Park Housing Fund, will receive an even bigger boost as there is an additional incremental match being offered by 1st Bank and the Community First Foundation on all monies raised that day.

Grant applications for the Fund are accepted several times a year, and an advisory committee award grants through a blind selection process. Applications and more information can be found at www.grandfoundation.com/grants.
